About e2
e2 Engineering is an electrical consulting firm with offices in Victoria and Nanaimo. We design electrical systems for residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, recreational, and light industrial buildings across Vancouver Island and beyond.
Our work includes power distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm, communications, security, and EV infrastructure. We work closely with architects, developers, contractors, and other consultants to take projects from initial design through construction.
We care about thoughtful design, clear drawings, and practical solutions. We’re building a team where people take pride in their work, support one another, and contribute to improving how we deliver our projects.
The Opportunity

You’ll work with engineers and designers to turn design information and markups into clear, coordinated drawings. We’ll provide guidance and support, and we expect you to ask questions, check your work, apply feedback, and take increasing responsibility as your drafting skills develop.
Job Type – Full-time, Permanent, local candidates only, applicants who reside outside Vancouver Island will not be considered.

What We Expect at e2
- Take ownership of your tasks. Understand the instructions, keep track of revisions, and complete your work on time. Let your project lead know early if information is missing or you need help.
- Understand what you’re drawing. Learn the purpose of the symbols, equipment,
and systems shown on the plans. Ask about markups or details that are unclear before making assumptions.
- Check your work. Review your drawings against the instructions and markups before handing them over. Pay attention to labels, dimensions, references, alignment, and consistency across sheets.
- Apply feedback and build your skills. Learn our drafting standards and procedures, carry corrections forward into future work, and develop your efficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Communicate and support the team. Keep engineers and designers informed of your progress, flag discrepancies between drawings, and follow up on outstanding information.
- Contribute ideas. Ask questions about how we work and suggest improvements as you become familiar with our drawings, templates, and tools.
The Work You’ll support drawing production for electrical building projects, including:
- Preparing and updating drawings for power distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm, communications, security, and EV infrastructure using design information provided by engineers and designers.
- Incorporating markups and maintaining drawing layouts, symbols, schedules, notes, and details.
- Comparing electrical drawings with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other background information, and flagging coordination issues.
- Assisting with drawing revisions, issue sets, and construction documentation, and participating in project coordination discussions as needed.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Entry-level applicants and those with around one year or more of relevant drafting experience are welcome.
- A diploma or certificate in drafting, engineering technology, or a related discipline; an electrical engineering degree; or equivalent practical experience.
- A basic understanding of construction drawings and strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit is an asset.
- Previous experience in electrical construction or building design is an asset.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on your experience and responsibilities.
- Comprehensive health and dental coverage, with eligibility following successful completion of a three-month probationary period.
- Mentorship and opportunities to develop your drafting and technical skills.
- Diverse building projects and exposure to design and construction documentation.
- A supportive team, company events, and opportunities to help shape how we work.
As your skills develop, you’ll have opportunities to take responsibility for larger drawing packages and more involved drafting and coordination tasks.
