About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Licensed Optician or Ophthalmic Assistant to join our busy and growing team!

The ideal candidate is passionate about eyewear, enjoys building relationships with patients, and is confident providing personalized optical recommendations. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, knowledgeable, and comfortable working in a quick-paced, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist patients with frame selection and recommend appropriate lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences
- Take accurate optical measurements and fit, adjust, and dispense eyeglasses
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and optical products
- Troubleshoot eyewear concerns, including lens design, fit, and frame adjustments
- Perform frame adjustments, repairs,



and general optical maintenance
- Assist with contact lens fittings, dispensing, and patient education
- Process optical orders and ensure accuracy of prescriptions and measurements
- Maintain accurate patient records and optical order information
- Assist with inventory management, product displays, and maintaining an organized optical dispensary
- Provide exceptional customer service and build long-term patient relationships
- Work collaboratively with optometrists and clinic team members to ensure a positive patient experience

Qualifications

- Licensed Optician in British Columbia, or eligible for registration is an asset
- Previous optical dispensing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of lenses, frames, coatings, and optical products
- Experience with contact lens fitting and dispensing is an asset
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced clinic environment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional patient care
- Experience with optical ordering systems or VisualEyes EMR is considered an asset

Schedule

- Full-time hours




- Monday to Wednesday evenings (until 7:00 PM)
- Saturday availability required
