Licensed Practical Nurse - Urology and General Surgery The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides protected and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards.Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN observes, monitors, reports, and documents changes in the patient’s physical, mental, and emotional state, assists the patient with activities of daily living and provides the patient and family with relevant information and teaching.Working as part of a care hub, the LPN is responsible for collaborating with other members of the health care team, delivering consistent quality care, to meet the needs of the patient.Staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital serve a unique inner-city population, and we want to do it well. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.

Additional Required Qualifications: Inpatient surgery experience, including clinical placements in school.IV, PCA, epidural, TPN, drains, and wound care experience.Personal skills including providing peer to peer feedback, conflict management, and patient concern resolution/patient relations skills.Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 2 years within the previous 5 years of previous surgical experience required.1 year of general surgery or urology experience. A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work. Communities.
