Eatcouver
Vancouver
Eatcouver is a Vancouver restaurant marketing company with a team of 10. We own an audience of 275K followers across our two food accounts, @eatcouver and @foodcouver. Since 2015, we’ve helped 300+ local restaurants bring in more customers through video promotions and paid ads.
The founders are moving into an advisory role, and we're looking for one person to take over running Eatcouver and leading its growth. This is a rare chance to run an entire business, with pay tied to the growth you drive. We want this team member to treat the business as theirs, which is why we’ve built this compensation around a transparent path to over $200,000 per year within two years.
Who we're looking for
We care more about how fast you learn and how hard you work than how many years you've been working. What matters:
- You've led something (a team, a project, a business) and were accountable for the result, good or bad.
- You get things done fast, write clearly, and stay organized when things get messy.
- You're not satisfied with mediocrity. You want to win, and you want the responsibility that comes with it.
- You're coachable and always looking for a better way to do things. You'll have two founders who built this from zero dedicated to training you, and you should want to learn everything they know.
Bonus: experience working in an agency, hospitality, marketing, or social content.
What you'll own
- Growth & profit. We set the yearly plan together, and you run the business to execute it. You track revenue, profit and cash, and decide where to invest and what to cut.
- Team & culture. You set a high standard, give direct feedback, hire when needed, let people go when it isn't working, and build a place people are proud to work. You'll manage a team of videographers, editors, ads and creative specialists, and salespeople.
- Building & managing systems. When something breaks, you fix it at the root,
and you make sure the team keeps its processes documented and current so the business doesn't depend on any one person. Early priorities include streamlining content production and the sales process.
- Filling gaps. Early on, you'll jump on calls, handle upset clients and fill gaps yourself. Over time, you’ll fix the root causes so you no longer need to jump in.
- Brand image. Both accounts post consistently, and every client result and post reflects the quality Eatcouver is known for.
A typical week: long-term planning, tightening workflows and systems, team check-ins and culture building, spotting growth opportunities, reviewing client health, and jumping in where needed.
What success looks like
At the end of your first year, revenue has increased substantially, results are strong, the team is proud to work here, both accounts are growing, and you're no longer filling gaps yourself. The team handles delivery, and your time goes into leading the business.
Read this before applying
- This isn’t a 9–5. You’re free to set your own schedule; what’s most important are results, not specific hours. But especially in the first year, we’d hope for ~50 hour weeks, including some evenings and weekends, to drive the business forward effectively. If you want to grow personally and professionally, learn a ton, and be paid like an owner when the business grows, this is a good fit.
- Only apply for this job if you see this as a long-term opportunity.
- For the first month,
the founders will coach you closely on everything you need to succeed. After that, you’ll be running the show, and we’ll meet with you weekly for high-level strategy, creative direction, and big decisions.
- The retainer model is early. You'll be scaling something that's working well with clients so far, not running a finished machine. There’s lots of room to grow it, and your pay with it.
Compensation and growth
- Base salary $75–85K plus a share of profit growth above our current baseline, with no cap. If we hit our growth forecasts, you’ll make roughly $110K in year one, and you’d be earning at a pace of about $170K a year by the end of it. From there, the aim is to grow to $200K+ in year two, and beyond.
- If you're the right person, we’re open to adjusting the compensation structure to suit your goals. For example, a lower base and higher profit share, so you share more upside in what you grow.
- Health and dental coverage through a health spending account.
- Full-time, mostly remote. You must be based in Metro Vancouver or willing to move here.
- If you hit our growth targets and uphold a strong brand image, you'll have the opportunity to get equity within 1–2 years.
