Comox Kidz Discovery Centre is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic educator to join our before- and after-school childcare program at Valley View Elementary.

We are a welcoming, play-based program that values independence, curiosity, friendships, cooperation, and kindness. Our approach encourages outdoor exploration, creative activities, discovery, and opportunities for children to relax and recharge during their time outside of school.

We believe children thrive when they feel respected, supported, and encouraged to explore their own interests.

Responsibilities include:

- Encouraging independence, creativity, cooperation, and child-led exploration.
- Supporting positive relationships and respectful behaviour.
- Assisting with daily routines, transitions, snacks, and activities.
- Maintaining accurate attendance and following established safety procedures.
- Working cooperatively with fellow educators and communicating positively with families.

A Schedule That Follows the School Year This position offers consistent Monday-to-Friday afternoon hours during the school year, with scheduled school breaks off.

Our centre closes for statutory holidays, winter break, spring break, and summer holidays.

This schedule may be especially appealing to someone with school-age children, a semi-retired educator,

or anyone seeking predictable part-time employment with extended breaks throughout the year.

Additional hours may be available on Pro-D days and early dismissal days.
