- An understanding of family violence, the dynamics of emotional, sexual, and physical abuse, and family systems
- Awareness of art and play therapy
- A strong understanding of and commitment to feminist-informed practice, and a person-centred, practical approach
- Empathetic listening and support skills, tact and diplomacy, and a sensitive, non-judgmental attitude
- The capacity to work in extreme crisis and traumatic situations, along with good boundaries and self-care practices
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong group facilitation and public presentation skills, and good verbal and written communication
- The ability to build positive working relationships with staff, service recipients, professionals, and agency personnel
- Proficiency with computers and relevant software
- Cultural, social, and economic awareness, and competence working with diverse cultures, particularly Indigenous peoples
- A high degree of ethical and qualified conduct, and a willingness to work flexible hours

Why You'll Love Working Here
- Meaningful work helping children and families heal from the impact of violence
