- Schedule: Continental Rotation (0700-1900 / 1900-0700)
- Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement - Overtime after 88 hours

What You'll Be Doing

- Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital buildings, heliports, parking areas, tunnels, and grounds.
- Provide professional customer service, including wayfinding and general assistance.
- Monitor CCTV, access control systems, alarms, and visitor screening points.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, fire alarms, Code White, Code Silver, and other hospital emergency codes.
- Monitor heliport access and follow established landing and takeoff procedures.
- Investigate and document security incidents, accidents, thefts, and property damage.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support using a compassionate, family-centered approach.
- Support clinical staff with high-risk patient monitoring, patient watches, and safety escorts while respecting patient privacy.




- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and occurrence documentation.

Must Haves

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor).
- Proof of two (2) doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
- Immunization records for mumps, measles, rubella, varicella, and a completed two-step TB skin test.
- Clean-shaven face to meet N95 mask fit test requirements.
- Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Haves

- Current certification in Use of Force (UOF).
- Current certification in Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).

Applicants without UOF or MOAB certifications can enroll in Paladin's certification program prior to onboarding. Certification costs are covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment.
