Senior Accountant

Remote (Eastern Time Hours) | Reports to VP, Corporate Controller

Delighted to be partnering with a growing Martech company to hire a Senior Accountant to take ownership of revenue accounting, contract review, billing accuracy, and key month-end close activities in a forward thinking, profitable organization. This is a fantastic chance to make a significant impact with exposure to complex revenue accounting and cross-functional projects.

Reporting directly to the VP, Corporate Controller, you'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, strengthening accounting processes, and helping build a best-in-class finance function. You'll also serve as a trusted partner to the AR Analyst and work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Billing teams to support business growth.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a passion for process improvement, automation, and the practical use of AI to work smarter and more efficiently.

What You'll Do

✅ Own the month-end revenue recognition process, ensuring revenue is recognized accurately and efficiently

✅ Review customer contracts, insertion orders, and amendments to determine appropriate accounting treatment and billing requirements

✅ Ensure billing accuracy through contract, delivery, and platform reconciliation

✅ Reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and accounts receivable, ensuring all variances are investigated and resolved

✅ Lead monthly publisher reconciliations and ensure timely publisher payments

✅ Support balance sheet clean-up initiatives and help strengthen financial controls as the company continues to scale

✅ Partner on the implementation and optimization of NetSuite SuiteBilling





✅ Mentor and guide the AR Analyst on collections, cash application, aging reviews, and credit reserves

✅ Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Billing teams to resolve customer and revenue-related issues

✅ Support annual audits, technical accounting analyses, and special projects

✅ Leverage AI tools and automation to improve contract review, reconciliations, reporting, and financial processes

What We're Looking For

✔ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

✔ CPA designation preferred

✔ 4-6+ years of accounting experience, including significant revenue accounting responsibility

✔ Experience reviewing contracts and applying appropriate revenue recognition principles

✔ Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and large data set analysis

✔ NetSuite experience strongly preferred

✔ Strong month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation experience

✔ Experience mentoring, coaching, or guiding team members

✔ Excellent communication, business partnering, and problem-solving skills

✔ Multi-entity, multi-currency, or international accounting experience

✔ Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve processes and efficiency

Nice to Have

⭐ SaaS, demand generation, advertising, or media services industry experience

⭐ Public accounting background

⭐ Strong technical accounting and contract interpretation skills

⭐ Experience participating in ERP or billing system implementations
