e2 Engineering is an electrical consulting firm with offices in Victoria and Nanaimo. We design electrical systems for residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, recreational, and light industrial buildings across Vancouver Island and beyond.

Our work includes power distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm, communications, security, and EV infrastructure. We work closely with architects, developers, contractors, and other consultants to take projects from initial design through construction.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Draftsperson who can take ownership of drawing production, maintain consistent drafting quality, and help develop our drafting team.

You should be comfortable managing complete electrical drawing packages in AutoCAD and Revit, coordinating information across disciplines, and progressing your work independently. Working closely with engineers and designers, you’ll identify gaps, resolve drafting issues, and help improve the standards and tools we use across the firm.

Job Type – Full-time, Permanent, local candidates only, applicants who reside outside of Vancouver Island will not be considered.

Benefits – Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three-month probationary period.

Schedule – Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (40 hours per week)

What We Expect at e2

- Own the drawing package. Organize and maintain drawings through each project stage. Keep revisions, backgrounds, references, and issue sets current, and manage your workload to meet deadlines.
- Think through coordination. Understand how electrical layouts relate to the building and other disciplines.



Resolve drafting issues within your role and bring design questions to the responsible engineer or designer with transparent context.
- Set the standard for drawing quality. Review your work and others’ drafting for accuracy, completeness, readability, and consistency. Follow company standards and address recurring errors.
- Communicate and plan ahead. Clarify requirements, identify missing information, and flag coordination or workload concerns early. Keep project leads informed and follow through on outstanding items.
- Develop junior staff. Explain drafting methods, review work constructively, and help others build the skills and habits needed to produce reliable drawings.
- Improve how we work. Help maintain and improve templates, symbols, Revit families, and drafting procedures. Bring practical ideas that reduce rework and make drawing production more consistent.

The Work You’ll lead drafting and drawing coordination for electrical building projects, including:

- Producing and managing electrical drawing packages in AutoCAD and Revit for power distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm, communications, security, and EV infrastructure.
- Translating engineering design information into coordinated layouts, schedules, details, and construction documents.
- Coordinating backgrounds and model information with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines.
- Managing revisions and issue sets throughout design and construction, and participating in coordination meetings as required.
- Reviewing drafting work, supporting junior staff, and maintaining company drafting standards and resources.





Your Experience and Qualifications

- At least six years of relevant electrical drafting experience, preferably within an engineering consulting firm.
- A diploma or certificate in drafting, engineering technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong proficiency in both AutoCAD and Revit, with experience producing complete electrical drawing packages for building projects.
- A strong understanding of construction drawings, building coordination, and electrical drafting standards.
- The ability to manage multiple assignments independently and maintain consistent quality while meeting deadlines.
- Experience mentoring junior drafting staff is an asset.
