Metlakatla Ferry Services has an opening for a permanent and full time Deckhand. This position will assist the Skipper with the vessel start-up and shutdown, raising and lowering passenger loading ramps, ensuring that all onboard safety equipment is operating properly and vessels are clean, providing customer service to passengers and ensuring the safe onboarding and off-boarding of passengers and materials. Support the Skipper in the safe operation of four company-owned vessels, including passenger ferries, according to schedule, ensuring passengers and materials are transported safely (e.g., seniors, mothers with babies and equipment, etc.) Ensure vessels, dock and office are clean and presentable before and after runs. oil change, etc.).
