Welder / Fabricator /Fitter

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Welder /Fabricator /Fitter to join our team in London, Ontario.

This position requires an individual who is highly skilled at using structural drawings to execute fabrication projects. The responsibilities of this position include interpreting blueprints, reading welding symbols, fitting, and welding steel / stainless steel / aluminum handrails, stairs, platforms, structural steel, tanks, equipment frames, chutes, etc. The hours of work for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 4pm.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

- Hoisting and crane materials at workstations
- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and apply them
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, including lifting, reaching, and climbing
- Steel fabrication with the ability to layout and mark material to be cut, assembled, and welded
- Perform precision burning, create jigs, have a working knowledge of fabrication hand tools
- Align and fit parts according to specifications
- Inspect materials, components, welds, and equipment for defects or malfunctions

Requirements:




- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience with operating welding equipment using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW with various structural steel material
- Current CWB welding ticket
- Must currently live within 45mins of work place.
- Experience with operating iron working equipment
- Ability to adapt to changes in job scope
- Works well as part of team and be dependable
- Ability to follow instruction and work with minimal supervision
- Solid knowledge of the use of Personal Protective Equipment, machine guards, and safe working procedures
- Attention to detail a must
