Job Overview

- The Food Service Worker/Cashier supports daily food service operations by preparing and serving food, assisting customers, and processing transactions accurately.
- This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. Food service, restaurant, kitchen, or cashiering experience is helpful; training may be provided based on the employer’s needs.

Duties

- Prepare, portion, and serve food and beverages according to established procedures.
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service, answer questions, and assist with orders.
- Operate a point-of-sale system, including Micros POS when applicable, and process cash and other transactions accurately.
- Use basic math to total orders, handle payments, and verify change.
- Restock food, supplies, and service areas as needed.
- Follow food safety and food-handling practices, including proper storage and hygiene procedures.




- Support smooth service by managing tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Suggest menu items or additions when appropriate.

Skills

- Customer service, serving, and cashiering skills.
- Cash handling and familiarity with POS systems; Micros POS experience is a plus.
- Food preparation and food-handling knowledge.
- Awareness of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Basic math and general math skills.
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Food service, restaurant, food industry, or kitchen experience is helpful.
- Comfort working collaboratively in a fast-paced food service environment.

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
