Para-Transit Dispatcher Join our STS (Specialized Transportation Services) team This department is responsible for safely transporting special needs customers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior service. The Dispatcher is responsible for effective day-to-day communication between driving staff and STS Operations to ensure the safe and efficient completion of runs. Multiple openings
- both full-time and part-time positions available. For the full-time opening, shifts are weekdays, either 5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 4:00 pm to 12:00 am. Part-time shifts include weekdays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and weekends from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 4:00 pm to 12:00 am. Primary Responsibilities
• Ensure that all driver check-ins are accounted for
• Deal with unit breakdowns by facilitating communication between drivers and maintenance personnel,



and ensure that the route involved is completed
• Provide tactful and qualified phone assistance
• Administrative duties (such as filing and reports)
• Para-Transit training will be provided, as you may be required to cover a run if necessary; paid Class 4 training and licensing will be provided Requirements
• Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license with a clear driving record
• Map reading skills with knowledge of the city
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle driver, customer, and public concerns
• Clear criminal record
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
