bout Us
Sleep Life West is a local, privately owned sleep clinic offering home sleep apnea testing (HSAT) and CPAP therapy. Patients come to us by physician referral or on their own, and we take them from testing through diagnosis and into treatment without long hospital wait times. We’re a small team that values personal, one-on-one care, and we’re looking for an experienced sleep clinician to support our patients remotely.
The Role
You’ll manage the HSAT and CPAP parts of the patient journey through phone and video appointments and remote data review. The hours are flexible and casual, and the work can be self scheduled, so it fits well alongside another position. You’ll work closely with our clinic staff, interpreting sleep physicians, and referring providers.
HSAT Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual pre-test appointments: review the patient’s history and sleep questionnaires (e.g., STOP-BANG, Epworth) and explain how to use the home sleep testing device
- Review returned HSAT recordings for technical quality and flag failed or insufficient studies for repeat testing
- Score or pre-score HSAT data and prepare studies for physician interpretation
- Review results with patients by phone or video, explaining their diagnosis, severity, and treatment options
- Coordinate repeat or in-lab study referrals when HSAT isn’t appropriate or results are inconclusive
CPAP Responsibilities
- Complete virtual CPAP initiation appointments: walk patients through equipment setup, humidification, cleaning, and use
- Guide mask selection and fitting by video, and troubleshoot leak and comfort problems
- Monitor compliance, AHI, and leak data through cloud-based platforms (e.g., ResMed AirView)
- Run scheduled follow-ups (e.g., 1 week, 30 days, 90 days)
and early intervention for patients who are struggling
- Recommend pressure or settings changes to the physician based on the data
- Prepare compliance reports for physicians, insurers, and funding programs as required
General Responsibilities
- Document all patient interactions accurately in our EMR
- Communicate with referring physicians and update them on patient progress
- Help clinic staff with booking, equipment logistics, and patient questions as needed
- Support quality and follow private clinic privacy standards, including PHIPAA (NB)
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in positive standing with respective Colleges
- Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH)
- Hands-on experience with HSAT and CPAP therapy
- Working knowledge of CPAP equipment and interfaces from major manufacturers
- Comfortable with cloud-based therapy monitoring, EMRs, and virtual care
- Clear, patient communication, especially with patients who are anxious or resistant to therapy
- Reliable high-speed internet and a private, quiet workspace that protects patient confidentiality
Assets
- Experience in a private or community sleep clinic or a home respiratory company
- HSAT scoring experience
What We Offer
- Flexible, casual hours that you set around your schedule
- Fully remote work with no travel and no night shifts
- Competitive hourly pay
- A small, supportive team where your clinical judgment is valued
- Orientation to our workflows, equipment, and software
