Employment Type: Part Time • Pay: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour • Schedule: Evenings, Monday to Thursday 3:30pm – 8:00pm • Term: Until end of June; summer continuation preferred
Location: In-person; commutable to Paris, ON. Vulnerable sector screening required.
We welcome applicants who have the majority of the following qualifications.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
- University students in their fourth year with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Robust knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at the Kindergarten to Grade 12 level (or equivalent)
- Strong English written and oral communication skills; ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details)
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
