Home: Oak Terrace, LTC

Position: Maintenance Helper, Temporary Full Time (9a-5p) 60hrs Biweekly

Qualifications

- Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language.
- Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred.
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
- Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & S.
- High School Diploma.
- College level trade certificate is an asset.

Responsibilities

- Follow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program.
- Regularly perform the various tasks described in the programs.
- Regularly check completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home.
- Complete repairs as necessary including not limited to Painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures, install blinds).
- Check the operation of the mechanical equipment.
- Inspect Life Safety equipment and systems.
- Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment.




- Complete regular maintenance reports.
- Complete pre-start up assessments on a recent equipment as applicable.
- Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors; and
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must be available for call ins on short notice.
- Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy duty related work.
