Join AOC as a Youth Kitchen Assistant, taking part in grocery shopping, meal prep, and ensuring a clean and productive kitchen environment. This opportunity is designed for youth aged 15-30.
Working closely with the Kitchen Coordinator, the Youth Kitchen Assistant will perform numerous duties such as cooking assistance and food delivery, while being mindful of dietary restrictions and allergies. Candidates should bring some cooking experience, preferably understanding Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture, to enhance their role in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
• Purchase groceries and kitchen essentials
• Assist in food preparation and cooking tasks
• Facilitate food delivery and clean kitchen areas
• Manage allergens and accommodate dietary needs
• Support the kitchen team during service hours
Requirements:
• Youth between the ages of 15-30
• Cooking courses or similar experience preferred
• Good knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture
• Experience using kitchen equipment safely
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
