Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer with deep Kubernetes expertise to join a platform engineering team supporting enterprise cloud environments and application teams. The role combines hands-on Kubernetes engineering and troubleshooting with broader cloud platform responsibilities, including infrastructure-as-code, automation and engineering through GitHub-based workflows. The successful candidate must be capable of going beyond basic Kubernetes administration and independently diagnosing and resolving complex Kubernetes and container-platform issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Engineer, operate and troubleshoot enterprise Kubernetes platform capabilities.
• Diagnose complex Kubernetes issues across clusters, workloads and supporting platform services.
• Support application teams deploying and operating workloads on shared cloud platforms.
• Investigate Kubernetes-related support requests and drive technical issues through resolution.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns.
• Work within GitHub-based engineering repositories and CI/CD workflows.
• Develop automation and supporting tooling using Python; experience with Go is beneficial.
• Understand and troubleshoot interactions between Kubernetes, cloud networking and surrounding infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and client/application teams while working to externally driven delivery priorities.
• Contribute to the evolution, reliability and maintainability of shared cloud platform services.
Requirements Required Skills
• Deep hands-on Kubernetes experience, including the ability to independently debug and troubleshoot complex platform and workload issues.
• Solid cloud platform engineering background.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong experience using GitHub for source control and collaborative engineering.
• Development or automation experience using Python.
• Understanding of cloud networking and the connectivity requirements of Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Ability to work directly with application/client teams and independently resolve technical problems. Additional Assets
• Experience with Go.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions and CI/CD workflows; deep workflow-development expertise is not essential.
• Experience with managed database services.
• Experience with cloud security capabilities such as Key Vault and customer-managed encryption keys.
• Experience developing reusable enterprise cloud platform components.
• Experience working in a large, regulated enterprise environment. Ideal Profile The ideal candidate is a Kubernetes specialist with broad cloud platform engineering skills—not simply someone who has deployed workloads to Kubernetes. They should be comfortable getting into a difficult Kubernetes problem, diagnosing what is happening and resolving it, while also being able to work with Terraform, Python, GitHub and the broader cloud infrastructure surrounding the platform.
