Job Summary

We are seeking a customer-focused Mortgage Agent to guide clients through the mortgage process, from understanding their financing needs to completing an application. The successful candidate will explain available mortgage options, assess financial information, and coordinate with lenders and other parties to help ensure applications are accurate and move forward smoothly. Minimum 5 years experience as a mortgage agent or underwriter. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills; English and French or other multilingual abilities are welcome. This is a part time position. Hours Monday-Thursday 5 pm to 9 pm Saturday 9 am-1 pm.

Responsibilities

- Build professional relationships with prospective and existing clients and provide responsive, courteous customer service.
- Discuss clients’ goals, financial circumstances, and mortgage needs to help identify suitable options.
- Explain mortgage products, application requirements, terms, and next steps in clear, accessible language.
- Collect, review, and organize application documents, including income, credit, and other financial information.
- Assess application details for completeness and accuracy, using sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Prepare and maintain client records, application updates, and related documentation in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Communicate with lenders, clients,



and relevant professionals to coordinate application progress and resolve questions.
- Apply negotiation skills when discussing mortgage terms and options with lenders on behalf of clients.
- Use Microsoft Excel and other office tools to organize information, perform calculations, and track application status.
- Handle financial figures and cash-management-related information carefully, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Keep current with mortgage products, lending practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Skills

- Solid customer service, communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of financial services; mortgage or lending experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in English is required for clear communication and documentation.
- French, bilingual, or other multilingual abilities are welcome.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general office software.
- Sound math skills, including the ability to review figures, calculate payments, and interpret financial information.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to explain options objectively.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and commitment to protecting confidential client information.
- Ability to manage multiple applications and priorities while maintaining accurate records.

Pay: $32,500.00-$37,500.00 per year
