We are a family in Riverview, New Brunswick, looking for a compassionate, patient, and experienced caregiver to provide part-time support for our mother and some additional household assistance for our father. About the care needed Our mother experiences short-term memory loss and cognitive challenges that affect her ability to consistently manage her daily personal care. She frequently forgets to bathe, brush her teeth, and maintain regular hygiene routines. At times, she can be reluctant or resistant to receiving assistance. We are looking for someone who can build trust, establish a predictable routine, and use patience, encouragement, and gentle persistence to help her complete personal care activities while respecting her dignity and independence. Experience working with seniors who have memory difficulties and may resist personal care is particularly important. Primary

responsibilities:

- Establishing and maintaining a consistent personal care routine.
- Assisting with bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and other personal hygiene needs.
- Providing patient encouragement and reassurance when our mother is reluctant to participate in personal care.
- Offering companionship and helping maintain a comfortable, supportive environment. Additional household

responsibilities:

- Light housekeeping and general cleaning to help our father maintain the home.
- Laundry, including washing, folding, and putting away clothing.
- Occasional light meal preparation, as time permits. Our mother's personal care will always take priority over household tasks. Schedule and compensation
- Part-time, live-out position.
- Initially two visits per week,



approximately two hours per visit (four hours weekly).
- Tuesday and Friday are preferred, but we are flexible regarding the days and times.
- Once a schedule is agreed upon, we would like visits to occur consistently on the same days and at the same times each week. Establishing a predictable routine is significant for our mother.
- Compensation: $27 per hour. Preferred qualifications and

experience:

- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent education/training in home support or senior care.
- Demonstrated experience supporting seniors with short-term memory loss or cognitive challenges.
- Experience assisting with bathing, personal hygiene, and situations where someone may be resistant to receiving care.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Additional training in memory care, dementia care, or cognitive support would be an asset.
- Ability to provide references and a satisfactory vulnerable-sector police check. We are particularly interested in someone who is dependable, personable, patient, and capable of taking initiative.
