You will maintain and evolve the Linux kernel in EOS while tracking upstream developments and integrating current versions. The role spans kernel features, debugging, scalable performance, automated testing, and customer problem resolution. You will own projects from definition through deployment and customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Track upstream Linux kernel developments and identify relevant features
- Develop EOS kernel features, tests, and testing infrastructure
- Qualify CPUs and NICs with hardware engineers and vendors
- Contribute kernel features to the mainline Linux community




- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects

Requirements:

- Expert C programming experience; C++ and Python knowledge desirable
- Hands-on Linux kernel troubleshooting, bug fixing, and feature development
- Familiarity with kernel architecture and upstream patching procedures
- Understanding of IP networking principles and software engineering practices
- BS plus eight, MS plus six, or PhD plus three years
