Support laboratory testing in Southampton as a Medical Laboratory Assistant using sample collection, phlebotomy, and laboratory software systems. This is part-time temporary work.

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Laboratory Assistant works within professional scope in a team environment. The position collects samples, conducts medical laboratory tests, and prepares, cleans, and maintains equipment. Work follows applicable legislation, CMLTO requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collect samples within skilled practice scope
- Conduct medical laboratory tests according to standards
- Set up, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation




- Support patient safety and workplace safety practices

Requirements:

- MLPAO or CSMLS Certified Lab Assistant Diploma
- Secondary education or equivalent
- Understanding of LIS and document management systems
- Ability to prioritize changing priorities and use good judgement
- Availability for off-shifts, standby, on-call, weekends, and multi-site coverage
