Deliver perioperative nursing care in Owen Sound as a Registered Practical Nurse, using operating room skills and patient safety practices.

Reporting to the Manager, this part time Registered Practical Nurse assesses perioperative patient needs and demonstrates nursing accountability. The position provides and utilizes equipment and supplies based on need, evaluates patient outcomes, and supports operating room services. Candidates require current Ontario College of Nurses registration, an Operating Room certificate, and the ability to scrub across all services. Knowledge of current ORNAC standards, communication, organization, and emergency response skills are required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess perioperative patient needs in the operating room
- Perform nursing activities safely and adequately




- Provide and utilize equipment and supplies based on patient needs
- Evaluate patient outcomes following perioperative care
- Support patient safety within Brightshores’ department services

Requirements:

- Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
- Successful completion of an Operating Room certificate
- Ability to scrub in all services
- Knowledge of current ORNAC standards
- Willingness to take call and reach hospital within 20 minutes
