Support cafeteria food preparation and sales at Delta Secondary as a temporary Cafeteria Assistant, working Monday through Friday, four hours daily. Maintain food safety while serving students and preparing menu items.

Reporting to the Principal and directed by the Teaching Chef, this position provides kitchen assistance at Delta School District. Duties include food preparation, cafeteria sales, cleanup, cash handling, and inventory support. The assignment runs for 20 hours weekly over 10 months.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up cafeteria lines with students before lunch periods
- Prepare, sell, and serve hot and cold food items
- Clean work areas, supplies, equipment, and kitchen laundry
- Operate registers, record sales,



and prepare deposits when required
- Assist students with equipment and storage procedures

Requirements:

- Grade 10 education or equivalent completion
- One year recent institutional or vocational kitchen experience
- Completed FoodSafe course and protected food-handling knowledge
- Ability to safely operate industrial kitchen machinery
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC, WHMIS, and Savolite regulations
