Support therapeutic recreation programs as a Recreation Assistant with The Salvation Army, using resident care, communication, and program planning skills. This part time position is 0.8 FTE with 32 weekly scheduled hours.

The Recreation Assistant supports the Recreation Therapy Manager or Recreation Therapist with group and individual programs. The work includes therapeutic recreation techniques, resident care plans, attendance records, and program documentation. The position serves residents while working closely with staff, volunteers, families, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute approved group and individual programs
- Implement therapeutic recreation techniques for residents
- Record resident attendance and participation daily




- Clean designated therapy areas and equipment
- Transport residents using the program vehicle

Requirements:

- Post-secondary Recreation Therapy education or senior population experience
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
- Current Safecheck Food Safe certificate
- Class 5 license with clean driver's abstract
- Experience working with mental health conditions
