Senior Staff Accountant - Job Description

My client is a well respected multi-disciplinary accounting firm, who is actively searching for a Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In this role you will have the opportunity to advance your career by working on exciting projects in a friendly, team environment. This is a hybrid opportunity (three days in the office) at their location in North York.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in a public accounting environment
- CPA designation or in process is required
- Experience with completing audit and review engagements
- Strong experience reviewing assurance files including the tax return with the ability to hand over to Managers with minimal loose ends
- Experience liaising with clients
- Experience with Canadian corporate taxes and have the ability to prepare corporate tax returns




- Experience conducting research & reach technical conclusions
- Strong knowledge of Caseware, Caseview, MS Office (Excel and Word) & Taxprep
- Ability to work as part of a professional team and lead others in a team environment
- Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships
- Ability to recognize accounting and tax issues and work with the team to resolve any issues that arise
- Ability to solve problems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills for prioritizing demands and meeting deadlines
