As Legal Director, Contracts, you will lead client accounts and the lawyers serving them within Carta Law’s Contracts North Americas function. You will report to the Regional Managing Director and oversee quality, service levels, performance, speed, and portfolio growth. The team manages commercial contracts from first review through execution for investment fund and asset manager clients, using AI-backed tools for high-volume pre-M&A; work. Success requires financial literacy, analytical thinking, and confidence resolving complex escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise client accounts for quality, service levels, and performance
- Resolve complex escalations beyond Managing Lawyer authority
- Manage lawyer allocation, coaching, reviews, and development plans
- Oversee onboarding, conversion, client health, and account revenue
- Drive playbook reviews, technology adoption, and team training
Requirements:
- Qualified attorney in a relevant jurisdiction with 5+ PQE
- Based in a Canadian or United States office
- Deep knowledge of commercial contracts across offered document products
- Robust people management, coaching, and client escalation skills
- Financial literacy and disciplined operational leadership
