THE ROLE:PETRONAS Canada currently has a vacancy for a Marketing Representative to join our team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing, the successful candidate will be a confident team player, self-starter with strong communication and critical-thinking skills, valuable economic thought processes, overall business acumen and the ability to perform under pressure with multiple deadlines.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:Communicate with production operations to understand current and expected productionUtilize production information, along with personal market knowledge and internal/external fundamentals, to form views around production optimizationStrategically trade around production positions short-term to generate P&LCommunicate; with production operations regarding market developments that may impact production, such as pipeline constraints,



and advise on price expectations as neededWork closely with scheduling team to ensure correct market positionsMaintain awareness of, and communicate, relevant market developments to the teamMaintain various spreadsheets of market dataProvide data and market information to other internal groups as requiredEnsure databases are maintained, including market pricing and hedge positionPrepare presentation materials for both regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetingsOther special projects as requiredWHAT YOU BRING:Post-secondary degree in Business, Economics, Math, Statistics or Engineering5+ years of experience in the natural gas industry in commercial or front-office rolesStrong understanding of the Alberta natural gas marketCommercially oriented person with strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skillsExperience trading short-term physical gas in AlbertaExperience with owning P&L; is preferredStrong understanding of the NGTL systemFamiliarity with production operations is considered an assetExcellent communication skillsDemonstrated ability to make effective decisions based on available informationFlexible, influential and assertive when requiredJob postings are typically only open for applications for two weeks so please submit your resume today.
