Overview

WildBrain Studiosislooking for an Animatic Editorto join our team Reporting to the Producer, in this position you will work help craft the story with the episodic director, to assess scene storyboards and previz material, making sure we’re getting everything the story requires. We are looking for an experienced episodic animatic editor with a strong instinct for action, dynamic pacing, visual storytelling, and building explicit, high-impact sequences within a collaborative creative team.

This role is required to be located within BC.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You'll Do:

- Edit and assess the animatic through multiple stages, from initial assemble to final lock

- Trouble shoot scenes/sequences where pacing, story or action isn’t working, offer alternative cuts and/or suggestions for storyboard revisions





- Fill in the audio bed with temp sfx & music

- Communicate effectively with the director

- Update and maintain an organized layout for all incoming content and source material for editorial purposes

- Maintain the episode re-use sfx lists

- Manage editorial project/bins/media files efficiently

What You'll Bring:

- 2-3 years of animatic editorial experience

- Strong understanding of post procedures, production and workflow

- Strong understanding of Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premier Pro editing software is a must

- Strong understanding of the needs of the Story, Pacing, Comedic Timing, Action Sequences and overall Scene Development

- Experience working in a remote collaborative environment with key stakeholders in multiple geographic locations and time zones

- Experience running remote review sessions using Evercast, Clearview Flex, etc.

- Understanding of CG geometry, camera positioning, and the ability to provide alternative solutions when scenes/sequences aren’t working so well

- Understanding of Storyboard Pro workflows with editorial

- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude

- Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines

- Creative and proactive problem solving skills





- Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work as part of a team

- Strong organizational skills

Nice to Have

- Degree or Diploma from a recognized film production school an asset

This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.

Pay Range: $1530 - $1700 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
