Our client, a leading global insurance organization, is seeking a Claims Examiner to join their Financial Lines Claims team. A

Job Title: Senior Financial Lines Claims Analyst

Pay rate: $82.92 per hour

Location: Toronto, ON or Montreal, QC (In-person at least 3 days per week; remote for 2 days per week)

Shift: 7 hours per shift

What's the Job?

- Manage a variety of complex commercial claims including D&O; lawsuits, qualified liability claims, shareholder disputes, employment litigation, regulatory actions, fraud investigations, and alleged breaches of contractual representations and warranties.
- Analyze insurance coverage and develop coverage positions across specialty commercial insurance lines such as Director & Officers Liability, Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fidelity, Pension Liability, M&A;/Representations & Warranties Insurance, and Cyber Insurance.
- Assess financial exposure on claims, set reserves, and present high-exposure losses to senior management with clear, well-supported recommendations.
- Monitor external counsel and ensure compliance with litigation guidelines while maintaining strong file governance and documentation.
- Collaborate on litigation strategy, attend mediations and pre-trial conferences,



and negotiate and settle claims within prescribed authority.

What's Needed?

- Law degree with 3+ years of legal practice strongly preferred.
- Experience in commercial litigation OR insurance coverage litigation OR significant experience in commercial insurance claims handling.
- Written and oral fluency in English is mandatory; written and oral fluency in French is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent organization, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external partners.
