Lead character effects for Netflix Animation Studios in Vancouver, using hair, fur, cloth, and garment simulation expertise. This is a hybrid role requiring three office days weekly.

As Character Effects Supervisor, you will lead the CFX team on an upcoming feature film. You will shape simulations that support character performance, clarity, appeal, and storytelling. The work includes Houdini or Maya, CFX pipelines, caching strategies, and collaboration across animation, rigging, and technical departments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise hair, fur, cloth, garments, and secondary motion
- Lead CFX dailies and provide constructive simulation feedback
- Create complex hero assets, setups, and shots
- Coordinate reliable simulation and rendering with partner departments




- Mentor artists and support training and career development

Requirements:

- Extensive feature animation, VFX, or high-end series experience
- Lead or supervisory experience within Character Effects
- Strong reel showing advanced hair, fur, cloth, and garment simulations
- Houdini and/or Maya proficiency with CFX pipeline knowledge
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
