Use statistical modeling and uncertainty quantification as a Data Scientist at Xanadu, supporting photonic component design through experimental data analysis.
As part of the cross-functional Data Analysis team, you will connect physical processes and measurement systems to observed data. You will work with photonics designers and experimentalists to distinguish measurement uncertainty from fabrication variability. Your analyses will guide design decisions and measurement strategies for ultra-low-loss components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop statistical models for photonic device experimental datasets
- Design measurements distinguishing competing explanations and systematic errors
- Quantify unknown systematics and reduce analysis uncertainties
- Build maintainable Python code for measured data
- Guide photonic component design decisions from experimental evidence
Requirements:
- MSc or PhD in a quantitative discipline
- At least two years analyzing experimental or observational data
- Knowledge of parameter estimation and uncertainty quantification
- Experience solving inverse problems and validating inferred parameters
- Proficiency developing reproducible Python scientific computing code
Apply statistical modeling, Python analysis, and uncertainty quantification to photonic design challenges at Xanadu.
