Support post-operative patients in phase 2 recovery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre using assessment and critical thinking skills. Work across Peri-Anaesthesia areas as needed.

This Registered Nurse provides primary care for post-operative patients during phase 2 recovery. The position applies assessment, intervention, education, and patient advocacy under College of Nurses and NAPANc standards. Care reflects Sunnybrook’s mission, vision, values, and Person Centered Care philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide primary care for post-operative patients in phase 2 recovery
- Assess patients and provide appropriate interventions
- Educate patients and advocate for their needs
- Apply critical thinking to patient care decisions
- Work across Peri-Anaesthesia areas as needed

Requirements:

- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Significant recent related post-surgical care experience
- Acute Care Nursing or High Acuity Care Certification
- Arterial Line and ECG monitoring experience
- Venipuncture, IV Certification, current BCLS; ACLS preferred
