- Set guardrails for security, role-based access control (RBAC), masking, row-access policies, and data governance in partnership with security and governance teams.
- Design for cost efficiency — warehouse sizing standards, auto-suspend/resume policies, resource monitors, and workload isolation.
- Provide technical oversight, lead design reviews, and act as second-level support and escalation point for engineering teams.

evaluate new Snowflake features and define how and when Hydro One should adopt them.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years in data architecture/engineering

- Expert SQL and dimensional/data‑vault modelling
- Solid grasp of security, governance, and cost‑management frameworks
- Experience leading enterprise data platform migrations.
- SnowPro Advanced: Architect certification strongly preferred.
- Snowflake architecture, data modelling, RBAC & data governance, cloud networking & storage, cost optimization, stakeholder leadership. Success metrics (first 6?12 months): Approved reference architecture in place, environment strategy operational, and documented standards adopted by all engineering teams.
