RQ11822 - Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Senior

- The Corrections Systems Portfolio requires a temporarySystems Testing and QA Specialist to support the delivery, maintenance, andproduct management lifecycle of enhancements to the Offender TrackingInformation System (OTIS), Youth Offender Tracking Information System (YOTIS),and associated integration solutions and services.

- The successful proponent will plan, design, execute, anddocument quality assurance and testing activities to ensure solutions meetbusiness, technical, security, privacy, accessibility, and operationalrequirements. Responsibilities include translating requirements into testplans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and automated testing solutions;performing functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptancetesting; and managing defect resolution throughout the software developmentlifecycle. The resource will also develop automated test suites, performapplication coding and defect fixes, troubleshoot production issues, whilecollaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure, andmaintainable solutions.

- Develop QA strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts,and test data.

- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated testscripts and regression test cycles.

- Execute functional, integration, system, regression,end-to-end, and accessibility testing.

- Identify, document, track, and resolve application defectsand issues.

- Perform root cause analysis and implement code fixes fordefects and production issues.

- Support troubleshooting, break/fix activities, andmaintenance of application integrations and interfaces.

- Develop and maintain reusable testing frameworks andautomation solutions.





- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to codingand quality standards.

- Support deployment activities and release validationtesting.

- Produce testing, technical, operational, and knowledgetransfer documentation.

- Develop quality metrics, status reporting, andrecommendations for process improvement.

- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, accessibility,architecture, and operational standards.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, developers,architects, and project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Requirements

Experience and Skill Set Requirements:

Must Have:

- Credentialsand/or experience that reflect current IT Technology Standards.Certification and/or demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with the keyApplication Testing and Development (coding) concepts, tasks, techniquesand skills.

- Experiencedeveloping and executing test strategies, test plans, test cases, testscripts, and test data.

- Experiencewith application development, coding, troubleshooting, debugging, andimplementing defect fixes and enhancements, which includes break/fixsolutions support.

- Experiencewith or the ability to learn and understanding SOLGEN Correctionsapplications and integrations, including Offender Tracking InformationSystem (OTIS),



Youth Offender Tracking Information System (YOTIS).

Skill Set Requirements:

- Credentials and/or experience that reflect current ITTechnology Standards.Certification and/or demonstrated knowledge andfamiliarity with the key Application Testing and Development (coding) concepts,tasks, techniques and skills.

- Experience developing and executing test strategies, testplans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.

- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing automatedtest scripts and regression test cycles.

- Experience with defect tracking, root cause analysis, defectmanagement, and defect resolution processes.

- Experience with application development, coding,troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing defect fixes and enhancements,which includes break/fix solutions support.

- Experience with or the ability to learn and understandingMinistry of the Solicitor General (SOLGEN) Corrections services and theirimpact on public safety

- Experience with or the ability to learn and understandingSOLGEN Corrections applications and integrations, including Offender TrackingInformation System (OTIS), Youth Offender Tracking Information System (YOTIS).

- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC),Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.

- Experience preparing technical, testing, and operationaldocumentation.

- Experience using testing, defect management, and source codemanagement tools.
