About the Role

Our client, a renowned actuarial consulting firm, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Actuarial Consultant specializing in Insurance Pricing. This contract role involves providing expert advice and analytical support to various insurance companies on pricing strategies for their products. You will work independently on challenging projects, leveraging your deep understanding of actuarial principles and market dynamics. This is a fully remote, contract position, ideal for a seasoned professional seeking flexible and impactful engagements. Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and validate pricing models for various insurance products (e.g., life, health, general insurance). Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform pricing strategies. Perform profitability analysis and recommend pricing adjustments to ensure competitiveness and profitability. Advise clients on regulatory requirements related to pricing and product design. Assist clients in developing new insurance products or enhancing existing ones from a pricing perspective. Prepare explicit and concise reports and presentations for client stakeholders. Collaborate effectively with client teams, providing technical expertise and guidance. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in actuarial pricing. Manage project timelines and deliverables efficiently as an independent contractor.



Ensure all work is performed with the highest level of accuracy and professional integrity. Requirements

An Associate or Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) or equivalent international qualification. A minimum of 7 years of actuarial experience, with a strong focus on insurance product pricing. Demonstrated experience in building, validating, and implementing pricing models using actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, GGY Axis) and tools like Excel, R, or Python. In-depth knowledge of pricing methodologies across multiple insurance lines. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills. Strong communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote setting. Experience in a consulting environment is highly advantageous. Familiarity with South African insurance regulations is a plus. Access to a reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup.
