Support therapeutic recreation programs as a part-time Recreation Assistant with The Salvation Army, using resident care planning and communication skills.

This Recreation Assistant supports the Recreation Therapy Manager and Recreation Therapist with group and individual programs. The 0.8 FTE position includes program planning, resident participation records, therapeutic recreation techniques, and transportation. You will work with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and visitors in residential settings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement approved individual and group recreation programs
- Monitor therapeutic recreation techniques and resident care plans
- Record attendance and participation for monthly reporting
- Maintain therapy areas, equipment,



and supply requisitions
- Transport residents using the program vehicle

Requirements:

- Post-secondary Recreation Therapy education or relevant senior experience
- CPR and Standard First Aid certification
- Current Safecheck Food Secure certificate
- Class 5 license with clean driver’s abstract
- Experience with individuals with mental health conditions
