Protect Swift Current’s urban forest through tree inspection, pruning, treatment, and removal across boulevards, parks, and the Chinook Parkway.

Reporting to the Parks Superintendent, the Urban Forest Maintainer supports the City’s tree inventory and broader parks operations. Duties include risk assessments, pest and disease diagnosis, planting, equipment operation, and public response. Winter work includes outdoor rink maintenance and snow removal.

Key Responsibilities:

- Inspect and maintain the City tree inventory
- Assess tree health, hazards, and risks
- Prune, treat, repair, and remove trees
- Plant and protect newly established trees
- Operate pruning, spraying, and lifting equipment

Requirements:

- ISA certification or willingness to obtain within twelve months
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Ability to maintain climbing and rigging equipment
- Ability to provide protected roadside work areas
- Ability to direct subordinate crew members
