Delsan-AIM is looking for a full-time yard attendant to support transportation, material handling and yard maintenance activities at our yard in Laval.

Yard Attendant Role Summary

The Yard Attendant provides logistical support for all transportation, material handling and outdoor yard maintenance activities. They oversee the loading and unloading of trucks, the organization and upkeep of the yard, the preparation of machinery for transport and the tracking of equipment. They work closely with truck drivers, the garage, the warehouse and operations to ensure an efficient, safe and well-organized work environment.

Main Responsibilities

- Ensure the smooth operation and overall organization of the yard.
- Keep the yard clean, orderly, functional and safe at all times.
- Make sure machinery and equipment are properly identified and placed in designated areas.
- Check the machinery lists scheduled for transport and make sure equipment is ready and accessible before drivers depart.
- Prepare and organize loading areas based on scheduled transports.




- Load and unload machinery, equipment and materials as needed.
- Prepare and complete the required documents for entries and exits (IN/OUT).
- Work with truck drivers and operations to facilitate machinery departures and returns.
- Make sure the required equipment and accessories accompany machinery during transport.
- Help move and position machinery and equipment within the yard.
- Perform machinery inspections when required and produce a weekly report.
- Report any breakage, damage or maintenance needs and carry out minor maintenance work.
- Assist the garage with certain operations and handling tasks.
- Keep general track of materials and equipment in the yard.
- Manage waste daily and ensure proper disposal.
- Clear snow from the yard during the winter season.
- Contribute to general yard operations and support other departments as needed.
- Perform any other related tasks required for smooth operations.

Requirements

- Experience in a construction environment, an asset.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Autonomous, resourceful and responsible.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ongoing commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s licence, an asset.
