Apply finite element and thermal analysis skills as a Structural and Thermal Analysis Intern studying electronic components and electric motors. Work across structural and thermal engineering topics.
This internship suits a fourth-year Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering. You will investigate vibration-induced fatigue in printed circuit board assemblies and electronic components. You will also analyze water-cooled motor thermal performance and support electromagnetic analysis improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform finite element analyses under random vibration environments
- Correlate finite element models with experimental results
- Document modeling practices and vibration-fatigue risk indicators
- Post-process motor loss data to generate thermal indexes
- Improve one-dimensional thermal analysis software options
Requirements:
- Fourth-year Bachelor’s or Master’s Mechanical Engineering enrollment
- Knowledge of finite element analysis software tools
- Knowledge of thermal analysis software tools
- Robust critical thinking and root-cause analysis skills
- French and English fluency, written and spoken
Develop structural vibration and motor thermal analysis expertise through finite element modeling, experimental correlation, and multidisciplinary engineering work.
