Thyssen Mining is seeking experienced Underground Mine Supervisors to lead underground mining crews and ensure safe, productive, and efficient operations. This role is responsible for coordinating daily mining activities, providing leadership to crews, maintaining safety compliance, and supporting production and development objectives.The successful candidate will have a strong underground mining background, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety LeadershipPromote and maintain a strong safety culture.Ensure compliance with company policies, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.Conduct workplace inspections, safety meetings, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.Ensure employees have the proper tools, equipment, and training to work safely.Operational OversightDirect and supervise daily underground mining activities.Line out crews and coordinate work assignments to achieve production and development objectives.Monitor work quality and ensure activities are completed according to plan and design.Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and resources to support operational requirements.Lead, mentor, and develop underground personnel.Foster positive employee relations and a high-performance team workplace.Provide coaching, guidance,



and performance feedback.Support workforce development and succession planning initiatives.Production & PlanningMonitor production and development targets.Identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency.Coordinate with technical services, maintenance, and safety departments to ensure smooth operations.Assist with shift planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.Reporting & DocumentationComplete daily reports, production reports, and workplace inspections.Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.Report incidents, equipment issues, and operational concerns promptly.QualificationsMinimum 2 years of supervisory experience in underground mining operations preferred.Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and safety practices.Proven ability to manage crews in a fast-paced environment.Valid driver's license.Ability to obtain site-specific certifications and clearances as required.Preferred ExperienceShift BossExperience supervising any of the following:Development crewsProduction crewsLong-hole operationsJumbo operationsUnderground construction projectsCamp and travel provided where applicableExtended health and dental benefitsLife and AD&D insuranceCareer development and advancement opportunitiesIndustry-leading commitment to safetyOpportunity to work on challenging underground mining projects across CanadaThyssen Mining is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
