Build recommendation systems for Fable and Everand using Python, learned ranking, and embedding-based retrieval through Scribd Flex. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will own Fable recommendations and grow into Premium’s technical lead. You will migrate Fable onto Orion’s up-to-date stack while expanding discovery across Scribd’s reading products. The work spans production systems, social signals, experiments, and collaboration with product managers and Orion engineers. Key Responsibilities:

Lead Fable’s recommendation migration onto Orion Extend rankers, feature store, and embedding retrieval Own production quality, latency, cost, and on-call Bring social signals into Fable and Everand recommendations Design and analyze online experiments Requirements:

Five or more years as an ML or software engineer Production recommender systems experience Large-scale processing with Spark, Databricks, or BigQuery AWS or GCP and container deployment experience Online experiment design and analysis experience Lead recommendation engineering for Fable and Everand with production machine learning, retrieval, ranking, and experimentation expertise.
