Build geotechnical engineering experience with Stantec in Calgary or Vancouver, supporting mining infrastructure, analyses, and field documentation. This full time internship begins Summer 2027.

Stantec seeks a 2027 Geotechnical Engineering Co-op Student for a flexible four- to 18-month term. You will work alongside engineers, geoscientists, and technical specialists on mining, water-retaining infrastructure, and natural-resource projects. The work includes geotechnical calculations, material characterization, field investigations, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support mining geotechnical work for tailings, waste rock, and open pits
- Assist seepage, slope stability, settlement, and liquefaction analyses
- Develop borehole, test pit, laboratory, and instrumentation documentation
- Support field investigations,



construction observations, and quality assurance
- Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, schedules, and progress updates

Requirements:

- Currently enrolled in an accredited related engineering program
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate study
- Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and mining projects
- Clear communication and careful documentation skills
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required

Develop practical geotechnical, analytical, and technical documentation skills through Stantec’s Calgary or Vancouver engineering internship.
