Quarry Worker (Brechin, ON)

Tomlinson is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our Materials Group as a Quarry Worker at our Brechin Quarry. This hands-on role supports the daily operation and maintenance of the crushing plant through equipment operation, general labour, housekeeping, and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and willing to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment while contributing to the effective production of aggregate materials.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Make sure crusher is in working order
- Operate Skid Steers
- Work quickly, efficiently and safely to fix problems when crusher shuts downDaily check of crusher, grease the Canica, change grease cartridges
- Clean the jaw and cone crushers
- Clean screens and hoods
- Clean around the crushing plant
- Measure, count and change screens
- Shovel under crusher
- Shovel Canica deck
- Clean tools
- Put scrap away




- Prepare tools and equipment for maintenance
- Perform maintenance on equipment when plant is shut down
- Miscellaneous jobs assigned by Quarry Foreman
- Operate rock truck and loader as required

REQUIREMENTS:

- Frequent travel and stay in the Ottawa area

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Noisy and dusty environment
- Rough (bumpy) driving conditions
- Typical work day is 10-12 hours with occasional weekend and night shift requirements

COMPENSATION:

The expected hourly range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
