Build Android live-streaming playback with Kotlin, ExoPlayer, and adaptive bitrate expertise from a fully remote environment. Own performance across Android and Android TV.
As a Senior Android Video Player Engineer at Kake, you will develop production video players for live streaming. Your work covers ExoPlayer customization, DASH and HLS workflows, and playback optimization. You will also address buffering, latency, rebuffering, and playback stability across devices.
Key Responsibilities: Design Android video player frameworks and live-streaming SDKs
Customize ExoPlayer components, ABR logic, and player builders
Troubleshoot buffering, latency, and rebuffering issues
Manage energetic MPD and M3U8 manifests
Integrate IMA, DAI, and SSAI advertising technologies
Requirements: Seven or more years of Android development experience
Deep Kotlin and Java expertise
Production experience with Android and Android TV video players
Strong ExoPlayer customization and optimization experience
Knowledge of DASH, HLS, ABR, and ad integrations
Apply Android, ExoPlayer, and live-streaming expertise to strengthen reliable playback at Kake across connected devices.
