Apply thermal geology expertise to SAGD development in Calgary with Canadian Natural, interpreting subsurface data for producing assets and future projects.
This intermediate to senior Thermal Geologist supports Canadian Natural’s Thermal Exploration team across McMurray and Clearwater assets. You will evaluate SAGD, CSS, and steam flood opportunities while integrating core, image logs, wireline logs, and other subsurface data. The work supports reservoir performance, development planning, and long-term growth across thermal projects.
Key Responsibilities: Identify and progress SAGD, CSS, and steam flood opportunities
Generate integrated geological interpretations from subsurface data
Build and maintain 3D geological models with multidisciplinary teams
Support horizontal producer, injector, stratigraphic,



and observation well programs
Optimize thermal wells using production and surveillance data
Requirements: Four or more years of Canadian petroleum geology experience
Bachelor of Science in Geology and APEGA registration eligibility
Understanding of Mannville stratigraphy and depositional environments
Experience or interest in horizontal well planning
Proficiency with Petrel, Geographix, AccuMap, and Microsoft Office
Bring thermal interpretation, geological modeling, and development planning skills to Canadian Natural’s SAGD portfolio in Calgary.
