As a Laboratory Technologist I, you will report to the Supervisor or delegate within Island Health’s Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics department. This regular full time position supports consistently high quality laboratory services through established testing, teamwork, critical thinking, and computerized information systems.
Key Responsibilities: Perform established hematology laboratory procedures
Conduct chemistry testing procedures
Complete transfusion medicine procedures
Operate related equipment and computerized information systems




Demonstrate procedures to employees and students
Requirements: Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology diploma program
Hold relevant CAMLPR registration or CSMLS certification
Complete recent core laboratory courses or related experience
Demonstrate current knowledge of core laboratory testing methods
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
Use core laboratory knowledge, problem-solving skills, and collaboration to support patient care at West Coast General Hospital.
