Design medium- and high-voltage substations with WSP across Canada, applying protection and control expertise to utility and renewable energy projects.
As a Senior Substation Engineer, you will deliver detailed designs for utility, renewable energy, and industrial power projects. The work spans concept through commissioning within multidisciplinary teams. Apply IEEE and ANSI standards, develop engineering calculations, and address complex power system challenges for clients.
Key Responsibilities: Perform detailed medium- and high-voltage substation design
Develop layouts, diagrams, routing plans, and equipment details
Complete lightning, battery, station service, and cable calculations
Prepare protection philosophies, schematics, logic diagrams, and panel layouts




Provide technical support through procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Skilled Engineer designation or Canadian registration eligibility
Ten to fifteen years of substation design engineering experience
Experience with concurrent brownfield and greenfield projects
Knowledge of transmission, distribution, and industry standards
Bring senior substation design, protection, calculation, and client communication expertise to WSP’s Canadian energy projects.
