ChampionX, transitioning to SLB after its acquisition, seeks a Principal Chemist for Production Chemical Technologies. You will test hydrocarbon samples using GC-FID, GC-MS, Pyrolysis GC-MS, and DSC. The work also includes instrumentation troubleshooting, analytical interpretation, and customer-facing technical support.
Key Responsibilities: Test hydrocarbon samples using GC-FID, GC-MS, Pyrolysis GC-MS, and DSC
Develop current laboratory methods and maintain instrumentation
Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and testing methodologies
Provide analytical data and interpretation for technical staff




Deliver customer-facing technical support and collaborate on projects
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical discipline plus six years’ experience
Master’s degree plus four years’ relevant industry experience
Ph.D. plus two years’ relevant industry experience
In-depth gas chromatography method development and troubleshooting experience
Project management, organizational, time management, and communication skills
Use gas chromatography, analytical testing, and technical support expertise as Calgary’s Principal Chemist for ChampionX and SLB.
