Prepare healthy meals and support food safety as a Nutrition Assistant at WBE, serving approximately 200 students each school day.
Reporting to the Nutrition Coordinator, this Nutrition Assistant supports daily school nutrition operations. The work includes meal preparation, inventory management, ordering, sanitation, student service, equipment care, and healthy eating promotion.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare hot and cold menu items for students
Follow weekly menus, procedures, and Canada’s Food Guide
Monitor inventory and place food and supply orders
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and security standards
Provide respectful service to students and staff
Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
Food Handler’s Certification and WHMIS
Related education, training, or experience
Basic math and computer skills for ordering
Food service or institutional kitchen experience preferred
Use meal production, ordering, and food safety skills to support WBE’s school nutrition program and student well-being.
